Rupert Hampel qualified as a lawyer in 1988 and immediately joined IMG. He transferred into TWI, IMG's TV division, in early 1990 to assist in the development of the European Tour's TV business which was formalised as European Tour Productions (ETP) in 1992. He joined the Board of ETP in 1994 and was appointed Joint Managing Director in 2000. He is also responsible for managing the international television business of The Open Championship on behalf of The R&A. Rupert joined the EGD Board in 2005.
