  • Navigating through the pine plantation that covered a proportion of the site
  • The very sandy site was ideal for golf
  • Although careful to retain trees some tree removal was inevitable
  • Excavation of the one of the many lakes
  • Greens construction
  • There was a great deal of wildlife on the site which needed to be protected from the disruption of the construction process
  • Colin was keen to make sure that his vision for the golf course was reproduced
  • View from the clubhouse back down the 18th during the construction process
  • A shaped fairway ready to be prepared for grassing
  • Finish shaping one of the green surfaces
  • The construction team getting ready to grass the practice area
  • A lot of the golf course was sprigged by hand
  • The golf course emerges from the sand
  • Site dogs are common on construction projects but this one had a particularly good life, adopted by the golf club and nicknamed Monty!
  • Colin on one of the final site visits checking and fine tweaking the golf course
  • A good irrigation system was critical in the hot climate of southern Turkey
  • Inspecting the golf course during grassing and grow-in
  • The approach to the 15th
  • Second shot into the 3rd green
  • The 4th hole at sunset

Pic of the Day

Stan Eby returned to Carton House for the 2010 Senior Irish Open. Working with Colin Montgomerie Stan designed the 'Montgomerie Course' which is now rated as one of Ireland's finest. It hosted the Irish Open in 2005 and 2006, the Montgomerie Course is very much reminiscent of a traditional links course featuring rolling fairways, gently undulating greens as well as steep faced deep cavernous bunkers.

What Our Clients Say

We have worked with Rob and Dave from EGD and have found both of them to be efficient, quick and with a high attention to detail. It says a lot that I regard both Robin and Dave as friends! Not many people I can say that about!!
