To design an 18 hole course in association with Darren Clarke in the historical Moyvalley Estate, located in North County Kildare, an hour from Dublin.
The Course
Large greens and bunkers with tall fescue grass and heavy contouring give the course a links feel despite being an inland course. Punishingly long from the back tees, but with the choice of three or four tees on each hole.
Balyna House, the 19th century mansion which has been restored to its former glory provides the backdrop to the golf course.
An hotel, clubhouse and floodlit practice facilities were also constructed.
Status
The course opened for play in May 2007.
