The Brief

To design an 18 hole golf course, capable of hosting tour events. The course will form part of the new exclusive Zavidovo Resort, 130km north-west of Moscow and a 5 hour drive from St Petersburg.

The Course

The course is to be called ‘Zavidovo PGA National Russia’, and will be the only course in Russia to carry the prestigious PGA brand.

The site is located next to a tributary of Europe’s largest river, the Volga, and is surrounded by pine and birch forest, lending the character of the course to being a firm and fast heathland style course.

The course plays to a maximum length of 7400 yard course and is characterized by wide fairways, undulating greens, and distinctive heather clad bunkers.
